Your questions - Health & special assistance
What medical equipment is allowed in the cabin?
Crutches, walking sticks, walkers, syringes, oxygen tanks, concentrators and ventilators are allowed in the cabin. If you use syringes, remember to follow the necessary safety procedures when handling and disposing of used tubes. You must show a prescription for these syringes to complete the airport security screening process. Concentrators and ventilators must respect the authorized maximum size for hand baggage: 115 cm / 45 in (height + length + width).
Can I bring needles and syringes on board?
Medical-use syringes are authorized in the cabin with a prescription. You must present the prescription at security. You are entirely responsible for the use of syringes. Do not leave used syringes on board. Please remember to place them in a secure container after use.
How do you get malaria?
Malaria is caused by a parasite called Plasmodium, transmitted by mosquitoes. The parasite attacks red blood cells, thus causing high fevers in humans.

How can I find out the entry regulations and requirements in the country I am traveling to?
Before your departure, please make sure you are familiar with the regulations and entrance formalities in force at your destination (visa and vaccinations). Some countries require a passport that is valid several months beyond the expected return date. In addition, a return ticket or proof that you will exit the country may also be requested. There are special requirements for passengers traveling to the United States. For further information, please contact the American Embassy website. Some countries require that international airline companies transmit all or part of their passengers personal information.
When should I request a medical authorization in order to travel?
You should ask for your doctor's advice, in particular, if you:
- are undergoing medical treatment,
- suffer from chronic illness,
- have recently been hospitalized,
- are pregnant.
